Ah well.. called up Nokia 2 days back in regards to future upgrades for my new phone. Sad to say that they don't have any upgrades for time being nor do they have any plan for it as well. Looks like will have to hunt around for 3rd party software/upgrade providers.

GODS! it's blardee 3.51AM over here now... And there are still people who are damn bloody well alive and flooding this place with freaking calls. Some idiots are just freaking pathetic.. Can't even pronounce GPRS correctly and they want to use the service itself. Best part is that they don't even fucking understand what the service is for.

Guess that proves the fact that there are never shortage of idiots.. especially when you don't need them at all. Freaks!

On another account, planning to get myself a phone line. It'll be either this month or the next.. depending on how broke I'd be by then..

Finally got the Nokia 3300 over the weekend. It's a nice phone overall.. THAT is if you don't have much expectation and intend it to be of normal usage (ie making/receive calls/SMS/picture messages). The bonus side of this phone is that it can double as a MP3 player with/without the handsfree, but unfortunately, the Radio function still requires the handsfree set as antenna.

Well.. here's the plus side that I can find so far
- acts as MP3 player (headset c/w 64Mb MMC)
- able to use MP3 as ringtone as well
- loudspeaker option to listen to your calls as well as MP3s (just like to add, it would have been better not to use the loudspeaker when you're on the phone as the speaker and the mic are in such awkward position that the person on the other side will find your voice very soft)
- durable feel
- color screen (only @ 4096 color)
- easily more than 8 hours of MP3/radio playtime
- can record audio from external source

And the bad side
- pretty heavy
- very restricted use of the MMC for time being.. s/w version 4.07 (wondering if there'll be any updates from Nokia)
- wallpaper/SMS/MMS share only phone memory, (read above line)
- max. size of MMS can receive/send is not more than 40Kb
- no infrared/Bluetooth option
- can't use GPRS modem externally (ie. connect to PDA/PC/Notebook)

Then again, if it's only basic usage, this phone is more than sufficient. Happy with it at the moment until I get some really good reason to hate it. Looking at Nokia 6230 & Nokia 7600.. seems impressive. Nokia 6230 seems like a heaven compare to other existing models since it's triband, offers Bluetooth/Infrared/GPRS/DATA/etc.. And Nokia 7600.. nice PDA-like design for 3G network.

Guess that's all for now. Back to work and more fiddling..
